HMS Victory gained its fame by becoming Admiral Nelson's flagship during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Victory in this battle ended Napoleon's quest for control of the sea, but it cost Admiral Nelson's life.

Formerly involved in many major actions against the Spanish and French fleets, she is now the oldest Royal Naval serving ship still in service. It is the flagship of Portsmouth Command.

Once restored to the same state and appearance as Trafalgar, visitors from all over the world can now see it in all its glory in Portsmouth.
