Description

Plastic model Airfix A04105 - de Havilland Chipmunk T.10 aircraft in 1:48 scale for gluing. The kit contains 84 pieces, wingspan 217 mm, difficulty 3.

The first Chipmunk went to heaven in May 1946 and almost immediately gained the army's interest. In April 1948, the Royal Canadian Air Force took delivery of its first Chipmunk. They were not the only ones who admired the qualities of this extremely capable aircraft. The vast majority of the 1283 built de Havilland Chipmunks were manufactured under license in the UK, at factories in Hatfield and Chester. And about 735 of them were in service with the Royal Air Force, again as a direct replacement for the old Tyger. In the RAF service, the British aircraft were known as de Havilland Chipmunk Mk.10. He provided basic aviation training support to many thousands of future military pilots. Although Chipmunk had a Canadian design, it became one of the most famous aircraft of the Royal Air Force in the postwar era. His military career began in the early 1950s and continues to this day.
