The nuclear powered Enterprise is the first aircraft carrier of its kind and is one of the largest ship objects ever built. This gigantic aircraft carrier was commissioned on November 25, 1961. Eight water-cooled reactors generate a total power of 300,000 hp, with the ship reaching an average speed of 35 knots. The water displacement is 75,700 tons and the flight deck is 76.8 meters wide. There are an average of 414 officers and 4,260 crew on board. Since the Enterprise is independent of external supplies due to its nuclear propulsion, large fuel stores are available on board the aircraft. The US Navy's largest and most advanced aircraft can be deployed from the Enterprise.
