Production of T-34 tanks at UZTM began in September 1942 and lasted until August 1943. During this time, the builders of Sverdlovsk tanks produced 731 T-34 tanks for the Red Army. An interesting fact is that when the UZTM foundries stopped managing the ever-increasing plan for the production of cast towers for the T-34, a new pressed tower was designed in the direction of the plant management, and the free capacity of the press of 10,000 tons was used for production. From October 1942 to March 1943, 2,050 pressed towers were produced at UZTM, some of which were installed on T-34 tanks of our own production, and some were sent to Chelyabinsk to the Kirov plant.

The T-34 was a real shock to German troops at the start of the campaign in Russia. Without the Germans noticing, the Soviet Union built a tank that, with its 7.62cm cannon, could overcome any Nazi tank.
