At the beginning of mid-1943, 91 Type VII C / 41 u-boots were launched. Until then, the conditions of the war were completely different. "Wolfpack tactics" have rarely achieved positive results against better protected convoys, especially with the introduction of air umbrellas. In order to better defend against emergence, u-boats type VII C / 41 were equipped with a modified, larger bridge called a "large winter garden", armored with two 20 mm flakzwillingy and one automatic 37 mm M42U flakkanone, which are accurately reproduced in the set. The submarine's swivel air intake pipe (also swivel in the kit) for fresh air and exhaust and four float pressure boxes for 4 men were also typical of these ships. The use of better steel sheets allowed a maximum draft of 250 meters. The model also includes new parts for the wooden deck covering with engraved pressure boxes and a "Atlantic" type bow.
