The P-47 was powered by a powerful star engine and was once the heaviest single-engine fighter. From January 1945, the P-47M version received an even more powerful engine "R2800-57C Double Wasp" with a turbocharger. It was armed with eight 0.5-inch machine guns, which significantly improved its attack potential. During the last month of the war, the P-47M Thunderbolt was even more successful than ever and successfully destroyed many Me262s.

The heavily armed P-47 was the heaviest single-seat fighter aircraft of World War II. The P-47M version was its latest production model. She served in the famous 56th Fighter Wing of the US Air Force.
