The North American Aviation F-86 Sabre, is an American transonic jet fighter. It was manufactured by North American Aviation. It became known as the first American swept-wing fighter that could successfully counter the Soviet MiG-15. In the fights during the Korean War (1950-1953), where the first clashes between jet aircraft in history took place.
The F-86D was an all-weather combat variant equipped with a nose-mounted radar. Originally designated F-95A. 2,506 units were produced. Models NA-165, NA-177, NA-173, NA-190 and NA-201. Only 25% of their parts matched the other F-86 variants. They had a wider fuselage to accommodate the radar with a larger afterburner engine. Armament consisted of 24 unguided FFAR 2.75-inch "Mighty Mouse" missiles.
