The BF-109 G represents a logical evolution from the previous F version of the famous German fighter plane that dominated the skies in the early stages of World War II. The new model was equipped with a more powerful engine to increase its speed and to fly at higher altitudes. Some aircraft also had more firepower to compete with large Allied bombers. Until the end of 1943, the BF-109 G formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe and participated in battles on all fronts, where it managed to be an equal opponent of the Allied air forces until the very end of the conflict.

More than 12,000 Gustav G-6 aircraft were built between 1943 and 1944. They were armed with two terrifying 13 mm machine guns, which allowed the Luftwaffe flying aces to score hundreds of kills in some cases.
