Dodge Charger is the most popular car in the Fast & Furious series. From the first film, Dominic Toretto shows with his black "muscle car" that nothing can match the V8 engine.
The second generation Charger entered the last model year with a few minor changes. At the front appeared a massive chrome bumper enclosing the radiator grille. The headlights were incorporated into the grid, which were put into working position by electric motors. The 500 and R / T models had an attractive wide rear light panel at the rear. Inside, Charger received new club seats, modified door panels, and the ignition key was moved from the dashboard to the steering column.
The six-cylinder 440 Six Pack first appeared in the list of offered engines. With three double carburetors it gave 394 hp (290 kW). Competition from its own stable, the Dodge Challenger "pony car", caused sales of the Dodge Charger to drop to 46,576. The sharp increase in premium prices in the USA also contributed to this decline.
In the 1970 NASCAR race, Charger won ten times and Bobby Isaac won the Grand National Championship.
