The KTM RC16 is a prototype Grand Prix racing motorcycle that KTM has developed for racing in the MotoGP series since the 2017 season. Representing the brand's MotoGP teams for 2021 were racers Brad Binder and Miguel Oliviera, who were part of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, racers Danilo Petrucci with partner Iker Lecuona in the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team. All four racers drove the factory KTM RC16.
The modernized RC16 features a hybrid chassis design (combining elements of a double beam and trellis frame design) made from steel and a carbon fiber swingarm. The engine is a 265 hp (198 kW) four-stroke V4.
Oliveira had a difficult start in the first five races of the season, with no top ten finishes and a DNF that put him in an early points deficit. KTM introduced the new chassis after the French Grand Prix and Oliveira's results improved dramatically, with two podium finishes and a win at Catalunya in three races. He ended up fourteenth in the championship with 94 points.
