Information about the template:

The Semovente L40 was developed on the chassis of the L6/40 light tank. It provided the fast troops of the Royal Army with an armored vehicle capable of providing the necessary artillery support. It could be used as a tank destroyer. Starting with the L6/40 tank design, the turret was removed and a 47/32 Mod.1935 anti-tank gun similar to that used on the "M" series tanks was installed in the open casemate. The Semovente was characterized by small dimensions, plate and rivet armor typical of Italian production and a crew of only two men. It was powerful, but no longer sufficient to combat enemy armored vehicles. During World War II it was used by the Royal Army in Libya, Tunisia and the Italian campaign. After the armistice some examples were used, with second line duties, by the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe ground units.
