Land Rover Defender is an off-road luxury car with all-wheel drive from the British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover. The car was presented on September 10, 2019 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It shares no components or technology with its predecessor, the Defender. It has permanent all-wheel drive, center and rear differential locks, and a two-speed transfer case. Unlike previous Defender models, the new model has an aluminum unibody instead of body-on-frame construction. All Defender 110 variants come with air suspension as standard, while the 90 can be optioned with coil springs or air suspension.
The default engine is from the following JLR Ingenium engines:
- D200 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel with 196 hp (146 kW)
- D240 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel with 237 hp (177 kW)
- P300 2.0 l 4-cylinder turbo petrol with 291 kW) and (221 kw)
- P400 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol turbo petrol mild hybrid with 395 PS (295 kW)
- P400e, which is only available for the 110, which gives 398 hp (297 kW)
The following JLR Ingenium in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines with mild hybrid technology are available for the 2021 model year (announced in September 2020): D200, D250, D300.
All variants are equipped with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission connected to a 2-speed transfer case. Basic models are equipped with white steel wheels as standard.
