This collection comes from Normandy beaches, with tanks, landing craft, trucks, gun stations, soldiers and diorama base that will allow you to recreate this significant day. Airfix gift sets are ideal for more advanced modelers and include glue, acrylic paints and brushes.

Early in the morning of June 6, 1944, Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy in northern France in the most ambitious and important operation of World War II. As the air force was already on the ground and fighting, the naval unit began to land. This phase of the operation was codenamed Neptune and consisted of five invasive beaches, three British and Canadian (Sword, Gold and Juno) and two American beaches (Omaha and Utah). The landing itself was preceded by both a strong air attack and heavy naval artillery fire from a huge group of ships moored at sea.

Most of the beaches were made with casualties, but no serious losses, except for Omaha, where US troops were pushed after naval bombing failed to destroy the German defenses. But even this obstacle was overcome. Once the heads of the beach were secured, Allied troops and equipment were quickly brought ashore, ready to continue and liberate the occupied countries of Western Europe, and eventually defeat Germany and win the war.
