Information about the template:
The Bond Bug is a small British two-seater three-wheeled car designed by Tom Karen of Ogle Design for the Reliant Motor Company. It was produced between 1970 and 1974, initially at the Bond Cars Ltd factory, but subsequently at the Reliant factory in Tamworth. It is a wedge microcar with a lift-up cab and side screens instead of regular doors. The Bond Bug was based on a newly designed chassis for the Reliant Robin 750 to be launched in 1974 and used a mix of Reliant Regal parts. The original concept was a rebuilt production Regal, with the rear of the car shortened to end over the rear axle.
The engine is mounted up front, as a 700cc Reliant four-cylinder light alloy unit. At launch, 29 hp (22 kW) was claimed for the cheaper 700 and 700E models. The more luxurious 700ES features a redesigned cylinder head that allowed the compression ratio to increase from 7.35:1 to 8.4:1. This provided an increase in power to 31 hp (23 kW) as well as improved torque for the then top-of-the-range 700ES.
The Bond Bug 700ES also features more ergonomic seats, more padding above the engine hood, dual mud flaps, ashtray, rubber front bumper and spare wheel.
