Description

Plastic model Airfix A04051A - Bae Sea Harrier FRS1 aircraft in 1:72 scale to be glued. The kit contains 112 parts, wingspan 107 mm, difficulty 2.

Information about the template:

The Sea Harrier is a VTOL / STOVL (short take-off and vertical landing) jet fighter, reconnaissance and attack aircraft developed from the Hawker Siddeley Harrier. The aircraft entered service with the British Royal Navy (Royal Navy) in April 1980 as the Sea Harrier FRS.1 and became informally known by the nickname "Shar". Their peculiarity was that, even though at that time it was already a matter of course that both naval and land-based aircraft could reach supersonic speeds to fight for air supremacy, the aircraft was subsonic, although its main task was to defend the aircraft carriers of the Royal Navy. The Sea Harrier was also equipped with a good offensive armament consisting of two 30 mm guns. ADEN, installed in pods under the fuselage and 4 underwing pylons for air-to-air missile use.

Sea Harriers served in the Falkland Islands War, both Gulf Wars and during NATO's intervention in the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In all cases, they mostly operated from aircraft carriers that were outside the war zone.
