Regarded by many as the best tank of World War II, the T-34-85 played a key role in the outcome of World War II. More than 35,000 T-34s were produced in various variants.

The T-34-85 was a variant of the T-34 with a 76 mm gun that was insufficient to take on opponents like the Tiger or Panther. The development of the new turret allowed the installation of an 85 mm gun capable of more easily penetrating the armor of German tanks. This tank was also the first early mass production model with a sloping hull design: this meant that the thickness of the shield could be thinner while providing the same protection. Coupled with the tilt of the turret, the sustainability of this vehicle was much better than that of the original T-34.
