Plastic model and instructions.
Plastic model Zvezda 6201 - Soviet heavy tank IS-2 in 1: 100 scale. The kit contains 17 pieces, length 99 mm, difficulty 4.
The models of the Zvezda series of the Snap Kit series are intended mainly for beginning builders. Individual plastic pieces need to be cut from the moldings with a knife or snapped out with pliers. The plastic pieces are designed so that they can snap together and thus hold together. We definitely recommend gluing the individual pieces together after clicking to increase the strength of the models, eg with Revell Contacta Professional glue.
The assembled model must then be painted with enamel (synthetic) or acrylic paints on plastic models.
Template information:
IS-2 was a Soviet heavy tank developed in 1943 and used during and after World War II. The designation IS was to mean Iosif Stalin. IS-2 tanks were a great contribution to the fight with the new generation of German tanks, as they had strong passive protection and at the same time considerable firepower. Thanks to the 122 mm cannon, they could destroy virtually any enemy tank, which was not the case. IS-2 tanks were first used in the conquest of Ukraine. Perhaps their most famous deployment was the fight at Sandomierz, where they clashed with the latest German Tiger II tanks. IS-2 was used by the Red Army from April 1944 until the final phase of the Battle of Berlin.
