The Dassault Mirage 2000 is a fourth-generation French multi-role single-engine fighter aircraft manufactured by Dassault Aviation. In the 1970s, it was developed on the basis of the Mirage III aircraft, and in 1982 it was included in the armament of the French Air Force. There are several variants of this aircraft, including the attack versions 2000N and 2000D, the improved version 2000-5, a number of export variants, and in total over 600 machines were produced, which as of 2009 were in service with the air forces of nine countries.

The 2000C is a single-seat fighter for air supremacy (C is short for the French word Chasseur, i.e. fighter). Production of this version began in November 1982 and a total of 124 units were produced.
