The Aston Martin DB5 is a sports model on the border of the GT car class of the British brand Aston Martin. The car was produced from 1963 to 1965. It is currently one of the most famous models of its brand thanks to its numerous appearances in James Bond films.

For the first time, James Bond drove an Aston Martin DB5 in the 1964 film Goldfinger, where Sean Connery played the title role. The modern DB5 was used in place of the DB Mark III, which was attributed to Bond in 1959 by the author of the book model Ian Flemming. The car with the registration number BMT 216A was equipped, for example, with machine guns, bulletproof glasses or an ejection seat for the passenger. One modified factory prototype and one equally modified production car were used for filming. Both cars were also used during the filming of the next film from 1965 called Thunderball. This is a prime example of product placement, which was not nearly as common in the 1960s as it is today.
