Repsol Honda is the official Honda Racing Corporation factory team in the MotoGP class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing (World Championship road races), backed by the main sponsor Repsol.
The Honda RC213V is a Japanese road racing motorcycle developed by Honda Racing Corporation to compete in the MotoGP series from the 2012 season onwards. For the 2021 season, the competitors were Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro.
Compared to the RC212V, the RC213V's most significant new design features were its 1000cc displacement and 90° cylinder angle. Four-stroke V4 engine with an output of 248.1 hp (181.1 kW), which, thanks to a 6-speed gearbox, can drive at a maximum speed of 355 km/h.
Márquez qualified for the German Grand Prix from the second row. He took the lead in the opening laps of the race and held on, taking his first win in 581 days and 11th in a row at the Sachsenring. Márquez followed that up with two points finishes in Assen and Austria, 2nd in Aragón, 4th in Rimini and then back-to-back wins in Austin and Misano. Despite his two wins, he was eliminated from championship contention. Still, Márquez finished the year with four podium finishes, three of which were wins, 142 points and 7th place in the Drivers' Championship. He crashed a total of 22 times in 14 races during the 2021 season.
