Mercedes -Benz 500K (W29) is a grand touring car produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1934 and 1936. First exhibited at the Berlin Motor Show in 1934, it bore the factory designation W29.
The 500K was a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive two-door 2+2-seater roadster. It used double wishbones and coil springs at the front, a pendulum axle (semi-axles) and coil springs at the back, front drum brakes, rear drum brakes. It had a five-speed manual transmission, alternatively a four-speed mechanical transmission.
Pulling down on the gas pedal fully engaged the Roots supercharger, pushing the five-liter inline-eight to 160 horsepower (120 kW), and the car was capable of over 160 kilometers per hour (100 mph) with fuel consumption as low as 30 l/100 km.
