Honda CRF 1000 L Africa Twin is an all-terrain motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Honda. The name of the project before the production model was True Adventure. On May 12, 2015, Honda announced that the production machine would be marketed as the Africa Twin, and that a market launch was planned for late 2015. The vehicle's designation is the CRF 1000 L, with the CR prefix standing for Cross ( Motocross ), the F for Four-stroke ( four-stroke engine ), the number indicates the stroke class in cubic centimeters and the L stands for liquid cooling.
The liquid-cooled two-cylinder engine generates a nominal power of 70 kW (95 hp). As a first in its category, the Africa Twin has the option to evolve Honda's automatic dual-clutch transmission (DCT) technology, which remains unique in the motorcycle industry. This latest evolution of the DCT has been specially developed and programmed to provide off-road capability.
