Chevrolet Corvette (C8) is the eighth generation of the Corvette sports car produced by the American automobile company Chevrolet. This is the first mid-rear engine Corvette since the model's introduction in 1953.
Production of the 2021 Corvette began on December 8, 2020 due to extended production for the 2020 model year. In 2021, a list of changes was introduced after the launch of the C2020 Corvette. Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat and Blade Silver Metallic have been discontinued. Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat and Silver Flare Metallic were added as premium color options. In addition, the full-length racing stripes saw 4 new color variants. The interior was added in Sky Cool Gray / Strike Yellow, which is only available on the 3LT model. Magnetic Ride was available separately for the Z2021 package for the 2021 model year. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto become standard options for 2021. Black Trident Spoke wheels, all-weather floor liners, and carbon fiber mirror caps also see minor price increases. At the end of the 2021 production year, the colors Sebring Orange, Shadow Gray and Zeus Bronze also ended.
The Stingray uses a new version of the LS-based GM small-block engine, derived from the LT7 C1 Stingray engine, now called the LT2. The new naturally aspirated 6.2 L V8 engine is rated at 365 kW. The engine uses a dry sump lubrication system. The engine has two radiators, one at the front on each side. The Z51 package includes a third radiator, a water-to-water and water-on-oil cooler on the rear of the driver's side, which cools the engine oil and transmission lube and draws air through the rear quarter panel opening.
