Advance-Design is a series of light and medium-duty trucks from the Chevrolet brand. After World War II, it was bigger, bolder, and featured a horizontal 5-bar grille that is recognized by many as one of the most iconic designs in all of automotive history. These cars first became available on Saturday, June 28, 1947, and were sold with various minor changes over the years until March 25, 1955, when the Advance-Design model was replaced by the Task Force Series cars.
Powered by a 3hp Chevrolet Performance Hot Cam LS500 engine with a 4L65E automatic transmission, the 1950 3100 is really fast. Changes included telescopic dampers replacing the lever type. New serial number codes: HP 1⁄2 ton, HR 3⁄4 ton and HS 1 ton.
