Ferrari SF21 is a monopost designed by the Scuderia Ferrari team for the 2021 racing season. The car is driven by Monaco driver Charles Leclerc and Spaniard Carlos Sainz jr.
The Ferrari SF21 monopost is based on the previous SF1000 model. The changes took place mainly in the rear of the vehicle, creating a new suspension and transmission. This, along with the work done on the engine, allowed them to have a much narrower rear end. They also redesigned the cooling system. The changes also took place at the front. A new front wing with a new nose was developed, but the chassis and suspension remained the same as the SF1000. Mattia Binotto said that the new engine is doing well compared to last year and that its performance "very" advanced. He also explained that 2021 is a "transitional" year in preparation for the 2022 season.
Following the unexpected departure of Sebastian Vettel from the Ferrari team, Sainz was announced on 14 May 2020 as the new Ferrari driver for 2021. In his first season with the Ferrari team, he scored 164.5 points and finished 5th place.
