Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. unveiled its new Bolide car online on October 28, 2020. According to Bugatti, the Bolide will be the last ever car produced to use their iconic W16 engine. The name Bolide comes from the term , which literally means "racing car" in French.
The weight of this hypercar has been reduced to 1245 kg, which is an extraordinary result considering that the Chiron is close to two tons and that the engine alone reaches 400 kg. The engine is a quad-turbo W16 with a volume of 7993 cc and an output of 1850 hp with a top speed of "well over 500 km/h". The torque is phenomenal: 190 mkg. Performance is astounding: 0 to 400 km/h in 12”1 and a lateral acceleration capacity of 2.8G. The magnesium rims carry monstrous 34cm front and 40cm rear slicks and on the other hand weigh just 7.4 and 8.4kg. The aerodynamics are very well thought out and every crease and every edge has a purpose.
