The Alfa Romeo Spider is a sports convertible model of the Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo. Spider, (manufacturer designation no. 105 or 115) was produced from 1966 until 1993 in a very little changed form. Then came the significantly different fifth (1994–2005, production designation 916) and sixth generation (from 2006, 939).
One of the most popular Italian cars of the 1960s and 1970s was presented at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. The shape of the car was designed by the famous Italian designer Battista Pininfarina, it was his last project, he died in 1966. The car was equipped with a powerful all-alloy two-cam engine, precise steering, precise brakes and an excellent "sitting" chassis. The car was only available in an open version.
It was offered in three engine versions (1300, 1600 and 1750 cm³). The maximum speed was 170 km/h and the output was 89 hp (basic version 1300).
