Porsche introduced the RSR Racing Variant 918 in 2011 at the North American International Auto Show in North America, which combines hybrid technology. The 918 Spyder was Porsche's second plug-in hybrid car, after the 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid.
The 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6 L naturally aspirated V8 engine built on the same architecture as the one used in the RS Spyder Le Mans Prototype without any engine belts. The total engine system delivers 652 kW.
